Bach for the HT Chromatic Alto Kalimba
Another piece I've been wanting to play on the kalimba
is Bach's Invention 13. The beginning part has only one sharp, but leaving it out just doesn't sound right.
This is where the chromatic kalimba comes comes in. You play the song on the front tines (tuned to the key of C), and for the G# you reach
behind the A tine with your right index finger.
I actually have the rest of Bach's Invention 13 mapped out for the chromatic kalimba, but I find it rather a challenge to play!

By the way, the tablature I am using for the chromatic alto kalimba works well if you are going to memorize the piece and are willing to take
the time to figure out what notes you are supposed to play on the back. But, if you want to just play from the music, like with Bach's Invention
13, you might try this:
1) Use KTabS to print the sheet music.
2) Get a pencil and look for all the notes to be played on the back. Hand write in a "b" (flat) symbol on top of the tine on front
that the back note will be behind.
For example, in measure 1 there is a G# to be played on the back. This tine is actually found directly behind the A tine on the front right side.
So in the music, you could write in a "b" symbol on top of the A tine. If you do this for all the notes to be played on the back, you can much
more easily play through the music and know when to reach behind for a note.
(Some day KTabS might do this for you, but it's all a little experimental at the moment.)
